Event narrative
Heavy rain caused a motorist's vehicle to hydroplane. The vehicle went off the road and flipped on Interstate 55 near the Desoto County Welcome Center, outside of Hernando. The driver was killed.

A strong cold front moved through the Midsouth during the late afternoon hours of March 24th, 2009 and continued moving south through the early morning hours of March 25th, 2009. A squall line developed along the front producing damaging winds.
