Widespread snowfall of 2 to 3 inches across the county with the highest amounts over the northern sections.
Wider weather episode
Low pressure developed south of eastern North Carolina during the evening of March 9th, then lifted northeast offshore of the coast on March 10th. This low produced widespread precipitation over the area, with mostly snow north, to a mix to mostly rain south. Several counties near the Albemarle Sound received several inches of snowfall.
