High temperatures reached the upper 80s to near 90 on May 30th. Dewpoints climbed into the middle to upper 60s. Eight people suffered heat related illinesses at the North Avenue Beach in Chicago, four of them were taken to area hospitals. In Lockport, six people suffered heat exhaustion at a Memorial Day event, four of them were taken to an area hospital. An 85 year old Matteson man was found unresponsive in his home. He was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
