Event narrative

A member of the public reported several trees down due to thunderstorm related wind gusts. The Squaw Peak RAWS just over the Oregon border recorded a gust to 53 mph at 1739 PST and a gust to 75 mph at 1839 PST. These gusts were associated with the outflow from the same storm, so it is assumed that winds reached severe thunderstorm criteria over Siskiyou county as well.

Several thunderstorms developed across the area on this afternoon and evening...and a few of them achieved severe status.
