Event narrative

An EF2 tornado destroyed a church, badly damaged a fire station, and also damaged a natural gas well. Six houses were destroyed, 14 had major damage, 29 had minor damage, and 20 others had very minor damage. Many of the damaged houses had roofs partially torn off. Several dozen outbuildings were damaged or destroyed. A number of vehicles were damaged and some were overturned.

Wider weather episode

Severe storms developed ahead of an advancing cold front on the afternoon and evening of the 10th. A few tornadoes occurred, and there were also reports of large hail and damaging winds.
