Event narrative

Storm survey estimated 80 mph winds occurred in Fort Hancock. There were some roofs blown off not so sound buildings as well as several trees knocked down.

Wider weather episode

A back door cold front setup along the Rio Grande Valley and an upper level disturbance combined with it to produce wind gusts to approximately 80 mph around Fort Hancock and several reports of quarter size hail.
