Event narrative

Significant flash flooding was reported along Chalk Creek following a heavy thunderstorm. The dramatically increased flow damaged two campgrounds in the area, washed out one bridge, and knocked down several trees along the banks.

Wider weather episode

The deep monsoonal moisture remained over Utah through the end of August, resulting in more flash flooding and severe wind gusts.
