The Reeves County S.O. reported 1/4 inch of ice accumulation from a mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow.

Wider weather episode

An arctic airmass moved into the region with well below normal temperatures in it's wake. An upper trough was situated over the western Conus, and stayed there for several days. An extended period of wintry precipitation resulted over West Texas.
