Hyder measured 13 inches of new snow for 24 hours ending at 0700 on the 20th.

Wider weather episode

A 993 MB gale force triple point low moved into the central Gulf of Alaska on the morning of the 19th forcing warm moist air over cold air at the surface in the Panhandle. This system brought heavy snow to much of SE Alaska including the northern Panhandle, Yakutat, and Hyder.
