Event narrative
Based on Radar and nearby reports, 6 to 12 inches of snow were followed by 0.25 to 0.5 inch of ice, leading to numerous downed trees and power outages. The Emergency Manager for Hood River County reported 8 inches of snow in Parkdale along with 0.25 inch of ice. There were several reports from the Oregon Department of Transportation of Black Ice on roads.
Wider weather episode
A frontal system brought snow and ice to Northwest Oregon February 7th and 8th after a previous storm produced widespread heavy snow across the area on February 6th.
