A 31-year-old man drowned while trying to rescue his daughter and son and two other children who were caught in a rip current on the Brinley Avenue Beach in Bradley Beach. A second 19-year-old man who also was trying to help was rescued. The children made it to shore themselves, but the father also was caught by the rip current. His body was found at 7 p.m. EDT.
