The first in a pair of low pressure systems moved across the region late on the 4th through midday on the 5th. This system produced 5 to 9 inches of snow across North and Central Maryland. As a result the roads were treacherous in many places. Several automobile accidents were reported. One death was recorded due to injuries from car a accident. Several non-life threatening injuries were also reported across Maryland. Power outages were also reported in Allegany County.
