Two people were electrocuted in a stairwell going down into a basement that was flooded. Reports stated a portable sump pump was in the standing water in the basement.

Annie Mae Anderson, 81, of Silver Spring, MD., was found dead during the morning of February 5th in a wooded area behind her home. Anderson, who suffered from dementia, apparently wandered away from her home without her coast. Cause of death was exposure to the cold weather.

Lightning struck a 3-story apartment building in the 13100 block of Millhaven Place. The lightning strike started a severe fire that started in the attic and caused the building to collapse, displacing a dozen families and causing an estimated 2.5 million dollars in damage.
