Event narrative

Ice accumulation around 0.25 inch at the Interstate 10 and Interstate 20 split, which is 39 miles southwest of Pecos. Ice accumulation was only around one tenth of an inch in Pecos.

Wider weather episode

A mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow fell on southeast New Mexico and west Texas as an arctic airmass resided over the region, and ahead of a slow moving upper trough.
