What EF0 means. On the Enhanced Fujita scale, EF0 is light damage: shingles and siding peeled, gutters torn, branches broken, consistent with estimated gusts of 65–85 mph. The rating comes from a survey of the worst damage after the storm, not from a wind measurement, so it says as much about what the tornado hit as about how strong it was.

What the National Weather Service wrote

A NWS storm survey team concluded a tornado touched down south of Floresville in Wilson County. A car port awning of a business was ripped off. A few tree limbs were also reported down. Peak winds were estimated at 70 mph.

The wider storm

An upper level low moved into the central plains and a shortwave trough moved across Texas. The low level airmass remained very moist and the result was thunderstorms that produced heavy rain and isolated severe weather.

Began near Poth (29.0990, -98.1300).
