At 8:15 pm on 9/26 the the USGS tide gage at the St. Simons Island Village Pier measured 5.25 ft above NAVD88 datum. This was 0.24 ft above the highest astronomical tide of 3.35 ft NAVD88. At 8:30 pm, the USGS tidal gage on the Brunswick River near the city of Brunswick measured 5.81 ft NAVD88. This was 0.21 ft above the highest astronomical tide of 5.6 ft NAVD88.

Wider weather episode

A period of persistent and the approach of the full Super Moon of 2015 created higher than normal tides along the local coast with minor flooding impacts around the times of high tides.
