The tide gage at the St. Simons Island Village Pier measured a water level of 5.72 ft above NAVD88 datum. Minor coastal flooding typically begins at 5.5 ft above NAVD88.

Wider weather episode

A full moon on Oct. 27th produced higher than normal astronomical tides and combined with moderate onshore flow created minor coastal flooding and beach erosion around the times of high tide. Water level departures were up 0.75 ft above predictions along the Atlantic coast.
