Event narrative

Minor coastal flooding was reported in several locations across Mobile County. The eastbound lanes of the Mobile Bay Causeway were closed due to the flooding. In addition, minor flooding was reported on the west end of Dauphin Island and at the foot of the Dog River Bridge. A homeowner on the west side of Mobile Bay reported 1-2 feet of water in the yard due to waves over topping the sea wall at the residence.

Wider weather episode

The remnants of Hurricane Patricia and an upper level storm system resulted in the development of a strong non tropical low over the northwest Gulf of Mexico. The low produced a long duration of strong southerly winds, which produced minor coastal flooding a high surf along portions of the Alabama coast.
