Two male teenagers from Mobile were swimming in waist deep water off of Dauphin Island when they were swept out by strong rip currents. Both teenagers drowned as a result.

Freezing rain caused a very light thin glaze of ice on elevated metal and inanimate objects at NWS office. No road or travel problems were noted around the area.
