Event narrative

Hyder got over 11 inches of new snow in 24 hours ending at noon on 12/2. Higher amounts were estimated in outlying areas. Roads had to be plowed otherwise no damage reported.

Wider weather episode

A series of weak fronts moved into the Southern Panhandle from the west at the beginning of December. Trapped cold air in the Misty Fjords area allowed for the precipitation to be snow. Hyder got over 11 inches of new snow on December 1st.
