Event narrative

The Heber City Municipal Airport - Russ McDonald Field AWOS recorded a maximum wind gust of 60 mph. The winds destroyed a barn in Wallsburg. Nearly 100 trees were downed in the community of Wolf Creek Ranch, and another 40 trees were reported toppled near Empire Pass.

Wider weather episode

Very strong winds developed across much of western Utah on February 17 and 18. These winds caused significant damage in some locations, particularly with the passage of the cold front on February 18.
