A new daily rainfall record of 0.55 inches was set at Modesto Airport, breaking the previous record of 0.22 set in 1968.

Wider weather episode

A low pressure system with a strong cold front moved through interior Northern California on October 12th and brought heavy rainfall to Stockton and Modesto. The airmass with this system also brought relatively cold temperatures that resulted in a new daily low maximum temperature record at Sacramento Executive Airport.
