Motorists encountered half dollar sized hail about 2 miles west of the U.S. Border Patrol check point.

An upper low was moving through southern Nevada with southwest flow aloft. Surface winds over west Texas were out of the southeast bringing in plenty of low level moisture and adequate shear for severe thunderstorms.
