Event narrative

Up to 6 inches of rain fell in a short amount of time causing flash flooding, especially across the southern half of Shelby County. Numerous roads were flooded including Highway 15 at the Salt River Bridge and U.S. Highway 36 at various locations both east and west of Shelbina. In Shelbina, numerous roads were closed due to flash flooding.

Wider weather episode

Outflow boundary moved through region and was the trigger for multicell thunderstorm complex. There were numerous reports of damaging winds with these storms.
