Two to five and one-half inches of snow fell on Eastern Hampshire County.

Wider weather episode

Fast-moving low pressure moved up the coast from the Carolinas and passed near Nantucket before moving into the Gulf of Maine. This brought a several inches of snow to much of Southern New England, along with some rain to southeast areas. Damaging west to northwest winds followed on Christmas Day.
