Eastern Hampshire storm history

Numerous trees, limbs, and wires were downed in Pelham, Belchertown, and Amherst.

Winds generally gusted 45-60 mph. In Amherst, a tree was down on wires on North St. In Northampton a large tree was down on wires on Prospect St and several large trees were down around the town blocking roads. In Belchertown a tree was down on a home.

Generally 10 to 15 inches of snow fell. Some accumulations included 14.8 inches in South Hadley, 13.1 inches in Granby, and 12.5 inches in Easthampton.

Snowfall generally ranged from 6 to 7 inches. The highest amount reported was 7 inches in Southampton and Hadley.

Snowfall generally ranged from 3 to 9 inches. The greatest totals were in the eastern portions of the zone with the least snow in the western portions. The highest report was 9 inches in Granby.

In Belchertown at 844 AM EST, a portion of Franklin Street was closed when a car hit a power pole due to icy roads. The pole had to be replaced by the utility company. No injuries were reported.
