What EF1 means. On the Enhanced Fujita scale, EF1 is moderate damage: roofs badly stripped, mobile homes pushed off foundations or overturned, windows broken, consistent with estimated gusts of 86–110 mph. The rating comes from a survey of the worst damage after the storm, not from a wind measurement, so it says as much about what the tornado hit as about how strong it was.

What the National Weather Service wrote

This tornado touched down near the intersection of Arkansas Hwy 101 and County Road 804, with several trees either uprooted or trunks snapped. There was also some minor damage to a church, along with damage to a garage and outbuildings.

The wider storm

Numerous supercell thunderstorms moved across Arkansas from the evening of the 13th into the early morning hours of the 14th. These storms produced multiple weak tornadoes and damaging wind gusts across the state. The tornadoes and damaging wind gusts produced primarily light structural damage, and one of the hardest hit areas was a nursing home near Mountain Home that was heavily damaged by 85 mph straight line winds.

Began near Gamaliel (36.4193, -92.2605).
