What EF0 means. On the Enhanced Fujita scale, EF0 is light damage: shingles and siding peeled, gutters torn, branches broken, consistent with estimated gusts of 65–85 mph. The rating comes from a survey of the worst damage after the storm, not from a wind measurement, so it says as much about what the tornado hit as about how strong it was.

What the National Weather Service wrote

A brief tornado was witnessed by Law Enforcement west of Pencil Bluff, or northwest of Oden in western Montgomery County. A cooperative observer also noted several trees down in the area of a shooting range in the Ouachita National Forest property nearby.

The wider storm

Numerous supercell thunderstorms moved across Arkansas from the evening of the 13th into the early morning hours of the 14th. These storms produced multiple weak tornadoes and damaging wind gusts across the state. The tornadoes and damaging wind gusts produced primarily light structural damage, and one of the hardest hit areas was a nursing home near Mountain Home that was heavily damaged by 85 mph straight line winds.

Began near Oden (34.6296, -93.8257).
