In Bayfield County, a 44-year old woman died of hypothermia after her car went into a ditch and she attempted to walk home.

Bitterly cold temperatures, mainly in the teens and 20s below zero, combined with northerly winds to result in wind chill values as low as 40 below in portions of northwest Wisconsin during the morning hours of January 19.
