In Bayfield County, a 44-year old woman died of hypothermia after her car went into a ditch and she attempted to walk home.

A 5 foot wide section of State Highway 13 just east of Herbster washed out when the culvert underneath failed. A car drove into the washout and the driver was trapped but only had minor injuries.
