At 914 AM EDT, sustained winds of 40 mph were recorded at the Block Island Jetty mesonet and at 1104 AM EDT, sustained winds of 43 mph were recorded there.

Low pressure from the Gulf of Mexico moved up the East Coast on October 27th and 28th, bringing rain and strong winds to mainly the eastern half of southern New England.
