Event narrative

Oregon Department of Transportation reported trees down on Highway 6 and Highway 18 through the Coast Range. A weather station on top of Mt Hebo recorded wind gusts up to 85 mph.

Wider weather episode

A strong low pressure system over the Gulf of Alaska brought a strong cold front through. This generated strong winds across northwest Oregon, and also brought heavy rain which caused flooding on the Tillamook river. Large seas also caused damage in spots along beaches.
