Event narrative

The tornado traveled south of due east along Highway 190. It began just north of 190 and multiple pine trees were snapped or had large broken limbs near the highway. The tornado continued south of the highway in Acadia Parish. Max estimated wind speed was 104 mph.

Wider weather episode

Deep moisture streamed into the area ahead of an upper level trough and weak cold front. Precipitable water values ranged from 2 to 2.5 with the slow moving system which caused efficient rain producing storms and lead to flash flooding. Several tornadoes also occurred.
