Event narrative

A wildfire spread across northern portions of Refugio County from August 25th until August 27th. The fire burned 1500 acres of mainly tall grass and brush around 10 miles north of Refugio. No structures were damaged.

Wider weather episode

A couple of large wildfires occurred over Goliad and Refugio Counties. The wildfires were started by lightning strikes. Each wildfire burned over 1000 acres of mainly tall grass and brush.
