A mesonet site at the Block Island Jetty recorded a wind gust of 61 mph at 426 AM.

Wider weather episode

A very strong Arctic cold front passed through in the late evening of Dec. 18th. It was followed by a brief period of high wind gusts shortly after midnight on Dec. 19th.
