Event narrative

An EF0 tornado initially touched down just northwest of the Assateague Visitor Center snapping trees along Stephens Decatur Highway. The tornado may have bounced at times as it tracked north eventually crossing Route 50 where several trees were uprooted. The tornado approached Ocean Pines uprooting trees on Ocean City Expressway. The tornado tracked through Ocean Pines knocking a tree on a home on Gum Point and snapping and uprooting trees up to the River Run Golf Course. The tornado was lifting as it moved across the Golf Course. Damage throughout this track was light with mostly broken limbs and some occasional uprooted to snapped trees.

Wider weather episode

The center of Tropical Storm Isaias tracked north just inland of the Middle Atlantic Coast from late Monday night, August 3rd through Tuesday morning, August 4th. Outer bands north and east of the Tropical Storm produced five tornadoes across portions of the Lower Maryland Eastern Shore.
