The eastern half of the zone remained in Extreme(D3) drought while the western half remained in Severe(D2) drought.

Wider weather episode

Besides one precipitation event in early December, little moisture fell during the month. All climate locations reported below normal precipitation which kept all areas in severe to exceptional drought.
