Heavy Snow in Western Hampshire, Massachusetts

Heavy Snow February 1, 2021 – February 2, 2021 · Western Hampshire, Massachusetts

What the National Weather Service wrote

Snowfall amounts generally ranged from 8 to 12 inches. The lowest report was 7.3 inches in Williamsburg and the highest was 15 inches in Westhampton.

The wider storm

A mid level trough over the Appalachians produced a secondary surface low pressure near the mid-Atlantic coast. High pressure over Hudson Bay allowed low level cold air to stay in place initially. Most of the region received 8 to 12 inches of snow, but a coastal front kept accumulations down in southeast and extreme eastern Massachusetts. This storm also produced strong winds and minor coastal flooding.
