A peak gust of 70 mph occurred at Condron Field or 5 miles east-southeast of White Sands. The White Sands Missile Range Main Post reported a peak gust of 59 mph.

An upper trough was digging into the Desert Southwest with an associated cold front which moved through Southern New Mexico overnight. East slope enhancement of the winds help to produce wind gusts to 70 mph at Condron Field.
