Around 10 AM, the Mesonet XMPL 4 miles E/SE of Port Townsend at the Marrowstone Pt Lighthouse in Jefferson County reported a wind gust of 59 mph. Mesonet FW4667 also reported a wind gust of 59 mph around 1030 AM.
Wider weather episode
Several weather systems moved across Western Washington at the beginning of the new year, bringing with them widespread rain and gusty winds to the area. Several observations sites reported gusts in excess of 58 mph.
