The month started with Extreme(D3) drought over the east and Severe(D2) drought west. The entire zone was in Severe(D2) drought by the end of the month.

Wider weather episode

Near to above average rainfall helped to improve drought conditions over most of southern New Mexico, especially closer to the Texas border region and the Sacramento Mountains.
