Coastal Flood — Northern Oregon Coast, Oregon

2021-11-04 to 2021-11-06 · Northern Oregon Coast, Oregon

Event narrative

Tidal overflow flooding occurred in the late morning through early afternoon hours on November 4th through 6th. Fraser Road in Tillamook and the Pacific City Airport were flooded. The Garibaldi tide gage was used to determine the time the water level rose above 10.5 feet, the point at which tidal overflow usually occurs. The begin time was the first time it rose above 10.5 feet on the 4th and the end time was the last time it dropped below 10.5 feet on the 6th.

Wider weather episode

High astronomical tides combined with elevated river levels lead to minor tidal over flow.
