Based on an eyewitness account from an emergency manager and a video shared on social media, a brief tornado occurred northeast of the intersection of State Route 9 and N 1600 Road, west of Paxton. The tornado lasted approximately 90 seconds, and did not produce any known damage.

Power lines were blown down across E 900 N and N 100 E Roads between Gibson City and Sibley. A local fire department shut down the road. The ASOS at the Central Illinois Airport in Bloomington recorded a 59 mph gust around 9 PM, shortly before the incident occurred.

Several roads and intersections were covered by floodwater around Gibson City. 6 of water was reported on 12th St at Sangamon Ave, 10th St east of downtown was impassable, and there was water up to the doorsteps of apartment buildings on State St.
