Dense fog with zero visibility at times contributed to a traffic accident which killed a man in Logan County. The man was traveling on I-155, about 8 miles north of Lincoln, when he lost control of his vehicle near a curve, causing the vehicle to roll over around 11:39 PM CST.
Two vehicles collided on Illinois Rt 54 about one mile east of Chestnut at 5:30 AM on January 28th. One person was injured and another was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident occurred as a result of snow-covered roadways.
A woman lost control of her car on Illinois Route 121 near Mt. Pulaski at around 8 AM on January 14th. Her vehicle slid into the path of an oncoming semi-truck and crashed. The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
Slick road conditions caused numerous traffic accidents across Logan County. One person was killed in a car accident (indirect fatality) 11 miles north of Lincoln due to snow and ice covered roads.
Significant icing was reported in Logan county, with a maximum report of 4 tenths of an inch of ice received around Lincoln. An indirect fatality occurred when a 35 year old female slid off the road and was ejected from her car.
