The combination of heavy rain and high winds aided in a two-vehicle fatal automobile accident on Highway 56 east of McPherson. There was one fatality and one injury associated with the accident. The McPherson Sentinel contributed to this report.

The highest wind gust was 63 mph from a Union Pacific weather station at 2:58 PM CDT located about three miles west of Canton. An additional wind gust of 61 mph was also recorded in McPherson a bit earlier at 1:55 PM CDT.

A snowfall total of 8 inches was reported about three miles east of McPherson. Based on additional reports, around 5 to 8 inches occurred across McPherson County.
