Temperatures were below freezing for approximately 60 hours from the evening of January 20th through the afternoon of January 23rd. The coldest period was the morning of January 22nd when air temperatures and wind chills in 10 to 20 degree range across the county.

Most of the southern portion of the county saw a total of around half a foot of snow. Snowfall began in the early morning hours and tapered off late in the afternoon. The highest reported amount was 11 inches in Waveland.

Francine brought tropical storm force wind gusts to portions of the county, resulting in isolated power outages.

The Waveland tide gage reported a peak water level of 4.8 ft MHHW, which resulted in moderate flooding of low lying areas around Bay St. Louis, including the Shoreline Park area where water intruded into some ground-level garages.

Multiple days of high tides impacted the county along the coast with many roads inundated. Widespread flooding was noted on streets in Shoreline Park.

Nearby mesonet observations showed temperatures dropping below freezing around midnight on the 16th A short window of a few hours of freezing rain did occur which resulted in around 0.1 inches of freezing rainfall. It can be assumed similar amounts fell across the county as radar…
