A relayed flash flood report from Mineral County Search and Rescue. A mixture of rocks, water, mud and debris of unknown depth closed NV-359 at milepost 9. Event time based on a separate NDOT report of water on the road near the same location, or 22.0 mi S of Hawthorne, NV.

NDOT reported that 2.0 mi NW of Walker Lake, NV, US 95 was closed between Schurz, NV, and Hawthorne, NV, due to a major rockfall.

Numerous pictures showed the aftermath of a flash flood in the canyon/alluvial fan west of the small community of Marietta. Minor damage was noted to area roads (unpaved) and a wire mesh fence. The time of the flood was estimated from radar.

The Nevada DOT reported a flash flood and rock slide along state route 360. The time of the flash flood is approximate and based on radar.

The Nevada Division of Emergency Management reported golf-ball sized hail.

A spotter reported that highway 359 south of Hawthorne and Lucky Boy Pass Road were closed due to flash flooding/debris flows. At least one vehicle was stranded in mud. A video was shared on Facebook showing fast-flowing water over highway 359.

Wind gusts 59 to 66 mph were reported at the Walker Lake NDOT sensor.

The Mineral County Fire Department reported a debris flow across highway 95 which caused some road damage.

As a result of heavy rainfall, rocks (some 8 to 12 inches in diameter) were washed onto U.S. Hwy. 95 near Schurz.

A total of 0.82 inches of rain fell in 40 minutes.

A total of 0.59 inches of rain fell in 15 minutes.

Thunderstorm outflow winds were estimated at 75 mph in Hawthorne, NV. Fence and roof damage occurred at several locations in town due to the wind gusts. At least one home storage building was also destroyed.

1.25" of rain in 45 minutes produced flooding in a home 5 miles south of Luning. Approximately 2 feet of water was reported in basement with 1 inch of water in main level of home. Damage estimated to be $500-$1000.

Mineral County Sheriff reported parts of State Highway 360 flooded due to heavy rain from thunderstorms.

Flash flooding was reported across Highway 95 between Mina and Sodaville from a thunderstorm. There was no significant damage reported.
