Spotters reported up to five inches of rain along with localized flooding with this storm. Local roads near OBrien were flooded in four different places.

A thunderstorm in south Grants Pass dropped hail a little bigger than quarter sized...about 1 inch in diameter. Associated winds were 20 to 25 mph.

The ASOS at Sexton Summit recorded a wind gust to 67 mph as this thunderstorm moved by. The gust was recorded on the 23/1547 PST observation.

Flooding was reported on the west fork of the Illinois river. Flooding was reported at Mountain Man RV Park 2N Cave Junction. Slate Creek near Selma was reported out of its banks.

The Mountain Man RV Park about halfway between O'Brien and Cave Junction had to be partially evacuated due to flooding. A storm total of 12.70 inches of rain was reported by a spotter 2WSW O'Brien.

Numerous trees were broken or uprooted when the squall line went through. A spotter 2E OBrien and ODOT reported that US Highway 199 was closed due to being blocked by a large trees and downed power lines.

Reported hail size close to golf balls with lots of lightning.

A strong thunderstorm brought nickel size hail and heavy rain with some local urban type flooding. Strong winds brought down 3 trees, two of which were 60 feet tall. The third downed tree was 10 inches in diameter.

The steeple of the Newman United Methodist Church was struck twice this day, damaging the steeple, windows, organ, and some other stuff. Damage amounted to $60,000.

A spotter 4 NNW of Grants Pass recorded 3.60 inches of rain in one hour ending at 1630 PDT.
