Two persons were swept downstream by the swollen waters of River Toro Negro, at Barrio Pozas in the municipality of Ciales.
Heavy rains over the high terrain of the Toro Negro River basin caused a rapid rise of the river that caused the loss of life of a 39 year old woman which drowned while attempting to transit a low water crossing on Road 615. Six teenagers managed to escape from the same vehicle.
Rip currents near the Cueva del Indio area in Arecibo swept away three individuals. All victims were rescued. No property damage was reported.
