Vehicle on Kimball Cove Road came to a flooded bridge over Kimball Cove Branch. The two occupants left the vehicle, and one was washed downstream and perished.
Hikers sheltering in a cave overnight attempted to cross two branches of flooding Cave Cove Creek via a log during heavy rain to try to return to their vehicle. One female was swept away and drowned.
Roads flooded. Businesses flooded downtown as water rushed down South Pittsburg Mountain into the community. Flood waters contained debris. One fatality occurred as an onlooker was swept into an underground culvert.
